The Dominican Association of Tourism Press supports the celebration of the twelfth Congress of the World Organization of Tourism Journalism (OMPT) that will have as its central theme “Empathetic and Effective Communication in Tourism”, to be held this Tuesday, June 6 at the Indotel Cultural Center.
The event will be attended by Latin American tourism journalists and experts in digital marketing and crisis management who will present on how the media should empathetically report media crises in the travel and tourism industry.
“we salute the presence of journalists specialized in tourism who are visiting us from Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama and Peru,” highlighted Adompretur president Yenny Polanco Lovera.
“Our colleagues came to the Dominican Republic to participate in this congress in which experts in digital marketing and crisis management will present their knowledge on how the media should empathetically report media crises in the travel and tourism industry, but they also came to learn about the attractions that our country offers with great joy to its visitors,” expressed Polanco Lovera.
He also highlighted the great work done by Salvador Batista, director general of the WTPO, who, together with the team made up of the representatives of the OMTP in the Dominican Republic Mayra De Peña, Cristina Rosario, Yubelkys Mejía and Álbida Segura, organized this event that continues to project us as a country with a tourist vocation.

About the OMTP Congress
The speakers at the Twelfth Congress of the World Organization of Tourism Journalism (WTPO) will be public relations strategy expert Raúl Baz, with his presentation “Empathetic and effective communication” and content marketing expert, Viena Divaluna, with her presentation “Immediacy: When is it a scoop? When is it disinformation? The moderator will be Maribel Hernández.
