SANTO DOMINGO – The national bowling team will participate in the IX Ibero-American Bowling Championship, to be held in Lima, Peru, where the most outstanding players of this sport will compete.
The selection is composed of the athletes Virginia Bello, Carmina Hermón in adult and the youth Alicia Soto and María Laura Mejía in female, as well as Leonardo Ardente, Miguel Vásquez in adult and the youth Martin Arbaje and Gabriel Ureña, in male.
The bowlers will compete in singles, followed by doubles, mixed pairs and the team event.
More than 50 athletes from 9 countries, including Chile, Costa Rica, Colombia, Guatemala, Ecuador, El Salvador, Spain, Dominican Republic and the hosts Peru, will gather at the Videna bowling alley in the Peruvian capital.
Francis Soto, president of the Dominican Bowling Federation and the Ibero-American Confederation, highlighted the great atmosphere in the bubble, as well as the quality of the event with high level players and great promises of the sport.
