XIV International Book Fair 2011, Plaza de la Cultura, Santo-Domingo

The leading book and culture event held annually in the Caribbean, the Santo Domingo book fair is scheduled for Plaza de la Cultura grounds starting 4 May through 24 May.

This year the fair is dedicated to the Vatican.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Luis Miguel Concert, Quisqueya Stadium, Santo Domingo

Luis Miguel, one of the most charismatic artists in Latin America, will be performing live in Dominican Republic at the Quisqueya baseball stadium. In this ocasion, Producer Saymon Diaz is responsible for his presentation in the country.

Only 15,000 people with numbered seats will assist to the concert, for a more intimate show.

The duo of contemporary Christian music Tercer cielo, composed by the wife and husband Juan Carlos Rodriguez and Evelyn Herrera, will offer a concert on Saturday May 14th at the La Fiesta Hall of the Jaragua Hotel, starting at 8.30 p.m.

The Hard Rock Cafe Santo Domingo will be presenting the concert Los Años Dorados del Merengue on May 26th, starting at 9 p.m.

This show will have more than 15 merengue singers from the 70s, 80s and 90s.

Legendary bassist John Patitucci and his trio is booked for a concert at the Teatro La Fiesta of the Hotel Jaragua on Thursday, 26 May.

With him, Sandy Gabriel and his quartet and percussionist Guarionex Aquino at 9 p.m.

Joan Manuel Serrat is back to Dominican Republic as part of a show called Child of Light and Shadow, which is divided into two parts : the first is a tribute to the poet Miguel Hernández, and the second part recalls the great successes of the Spanish artist.
