GFNY Punta Cana 2022

Punta Cana is a region known for its 32 km of beaches and crystal clear waters.

The area of Bávaro and Punta Cana combine to form what is known as La Costa del Coco, or the Coconut Coast, an area of luxurious all-inclusive resorts. It is popular for cycling, zip-lining, windsurfing, kayaking and sailing.

Punta Cana is one of the safest vacation spots in the Caribbean so tourists can feel confident and comfortable leaving the resort area to play sports or explore.

The Route
Our route begins in the heart of Punta Cana.

The first 25 kilometers of the route run through a wide road with four lanes, two of which will be closed to your passage so you have the opportunity to take advantage of the usual wind in the area and you can accelerate at full throttle early.

From kilometer 26 we will enter a rural area of intense green where you will enjoy, on one side, some impressive hills in the background and on the other, occasionally, the amazing blue Caribbean sea. This is the fastest section of the route. Although you may encounter intermittent moderate elevations, it is the downwind that will keep you at a very good pace for several kilometers so at this point you can still relax and enjoy the “ride”.

If you have opted for the short route, at kilometer 47 is the time to turn around, but do not be confident because the wind that you will have in front of you until the finish line is a challenge.

If, on the other hand, you have registered for the long route, then continue enjoying until km 63 where you will reach your return point where the real challenge for this route begins, since all that wind that was favorable until now is a challenge for the return. However, when you reach km 80 you will take a secondary road where you will find breathtaking scenery and the occasional hill with relatively short elevations of between 4 and 6 degrees of elevation.

Further on you will reconnect with the main road where you will then rejoin the wide 4-lane section to pedal at “full steam” and reach the finish line at the starting point.

By the time you cross under the arch, you will have lived the BE A PRO FOR A DAY experience with the satisfaction of having battled like a true champion through a challenging route, but in one of the most beautiful and popular tourist places on the planet.
