Dominican playwriting goes from theater to cinema in “Acorde Final”.

Mario Peguero, Pachy Banks-Cabral and Patricia Muñoz are part of this new production.

The shooting of the feature film “Acorde Final” has concluded. The film, a debut feature written and directed by Pachy Banks-Cabral and based on the award-winning play written by Patricia Muñoz, brings together a roster of great Dominican talent both locally and abroad.

Muñoz once again embodies the character of Abril, played 10 years ago in the theater and now on the big screen, starring in this film adaptation that addresses a universal human theme: mourning the loss of a loved one.

The production has a first class cast with the stellar performances of Patricia Muñoz (Abril), Luvil González (Isabel) and Dolly Martínez (Carmen).

It is worth mentioning the stellar participation of Mario Peguero (Cristóbal), who has been successful in his acting career in the United States. Peguero has participated in multiple productions at the Repertorio Español theater in New York and plays Santiago in NBC’s The Blacklist.

Peguero is currently nominated for two Emmy Awards for his outstanding work as a host on Telemundo 47. Also participating is Raul Placido, with special guest appearances by Henssy Pichardo, Lidia Ariza, and Papachin Lendor.

Both Mario Peguero and Pachy Banks-Cabral are Dominicans living abroad who bring their talents to the country to make Acorde Final.

Pachy Banks-Cabral and Patricia Muñoz decided to join forces to adapt to the big screen what they brought to the stage of the National Theater ten years ago with great success. They formed the production company Las Pato Films which, in association with Estudio Quitasueño, produced Acorde Final.

The film, which has national and international projection, promises to join the list of Dominican productions that show that good Dominican cinema is capable of reaching the most renowned festivals and theaters in the world.

The production is backed by investments from Banco BHD, Induveca and Aeropaq through the Film Law.
