Journalist Emelyn Baldera has decided to accept the candidacy for the presidency of the Asociación de Cronistas de Arte (Acroarte) for the period 2021-2023.
“It is in the face of these challenges that, once again, an important group of Acroartistas is once again asking us to accept the candidacy for the presidency of the association, understanding that we represent the best proposal to put the institution back on the path of development, transparency and stability that began in the administration we headed in July 2017,” Baldera, who has more than 20 years of journalistic career, said in a press release.
A few days ago, some members of the different Acroarte affiliates asked journalist and communicator Baldera to accept the candidacy on the understanding that the institution requires at this time experienced directors to be able to continue promoting its development in the face of the challenges of a pandemic that imposes strong challenges to return to normality.
Since the almost total closure of the country since the declaration of the State of Emergency in March 2020, Acroarte’s daily agenda has also been affected, requiring from its membership a greater effort to return to normality.
Baldera stated that “in view of this request from my esteemed colleagues, and the historic moment that institutions in the Dominican Republic such as ours are going through, I once again decide to accept the challenge, since we are considered to have the experience, management capacity and credibility to continue serving our institution from a directive position”.
Emelyn Baldera presided over the institution that organizes Premios Soberano, in the 2017-2019 period, managing to raise the credibility and transparency of the awards.
Similarly Baldera said that “we accept the challenge, convinced that we will continue to promote the training of our acroartista family and so many young students who need spaces like Acroarte Capacita to develop their skills, in short, there is much to do”.
The journalist maintains that the support and encouragement of so many colleagues is her greatest motivation to take on this journey together with a great team and “return to our home from where we have never left.”
“We will return to work with the same determination and determination that has characterized us to develop a work plan in favor of all acroartistas and to continue contributing to the strengthening of our institution that has reached its 37 years of foundation”, reiterated the acroartista who in this way makes official the candidacy of the yellow team.
