Andreina Martinez will represent Dominican Republic at Miss Universe 2022

Model Andreina Martinez Fournier will represent the Dominican Republic in the Miss Universe 2022 beauty pageant, the organization announced Wednesday.

Andreina Martinez, representative of the Dominican community in the United States, won the national crown in the 2021 pageant, but due to the fact that she caught covid-19 shortly before the Miss Universe, she was replaced on that runway by Debbie Aflalo.

The 24-year-old was born and raised in Santiago de los Caballeros, and later emigrated to the United States with her family, according to a statement from Miss Universe Dominican Republic.

In the United States, Andreina graduated in Psychology and Latin American Studies from the City College of New York and began her modeling career.
