American Chamber of Commerce invites to Dominican Week in the U.S.

The American Chamber of Commerce of the Dominican Republic (AMCHAMDR) will celebrate the twenty-ninth edition of Dominican Week, an event that has served for almost three decades to strengthen political, commercial, social and cultural ties between the United States and the Dominican Republic.

During a press conference, Roberto Herrera, president of AMCHAMDR, announced that this year’s edition will be held from September 27 to October 1 in hybrid mode in the cities of Washington and New York and will additionally feature virtual transmission through the platform www.semana.do of all events for participants who prefer to follow the incidents virtually.

Herrera, who is also president of the SemDom Organizing Committee, informed that the agenda of the 29th edition of Semana Dominicana will focus on the promotion of the Dominican Republic as a Nearshore platform and Regional Logistics Hub, reactivation of tourism, relations with the Biden administration, renewable energies and health.

William Malamud, executive vice-president of AMCHAMDR, highlighted the role of Semana Dominicana in promoting the Dominican market as a destination for investment, trade and tourism, as well as in promoting the country’s exports of goods and services and strengthening ties with the United States, the Dominican Republic’s main trading partner.

The Dominican Week delegation is made up of businessmen, executives, professionals, academics and government authorities who will carry out an interesting agenda of high-level private meetings, as well as events that will bring together diplomatic representatives, officials, local businessmen and members of the Dominican diaspora in the United States.

During their stay in Washington and New York, the delegation will participate in meetings with multilateral organizations, representatives of the U.S. government, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, Think Tanks and the Dominican Diaspora.

The press conference to launch Semana Dominicana, held in the Carlyle Room of the Epic Center at Blue Mall, was attended by members of AMCHAMDR and the Organizing Committee of Semana Dominicana, as well as representatives of the brands that make up the Elite Circle, among other personalities.
