CNZFE holds successful business round

The National Council of Export Processing Zones (CNZFE) successfully held the second edition of the DRForum & B2B, an event designed to connect national and international suppliers of inputs and supplies with companies in the medical device and electronic components manufacturing sectors in the Dominican free trade zones.

The executive director of the CNZFE, Daniel Liranzo, in his welcoming remarks, emphasized that this event arose in response to the need of medical device, pharmaceutical and electrical product manufacturing companies for the supply of certain raw materials and services.

He also highlighted the strategic importance of this initiative, which seeks to strengthen the supply chain, promote productive linkages, as well as the competitiveness of the sector in international markets.

The event was attended by the Minister of Industry, Commerce and Mipymes (MICM), Victor-Ito-Bisonó, who emphasized that this forum not only demonstrates the interest of President Luis Abinader in contributing to the resilience and sustainability of supply chains, but also underscores the Government’s determination to face the global challenges that impact the economy.

The event included a conference entitled “Global Value Chains: Building Resilience and Improving Efficiency”, given by Mario Veraldo, an international expert in logistics and international trade, who discussed the key factors of global trade, new business opportunities and the generation of productive value chains.

Also present at the event were the executive president of the Dominican Association of Free Trade Zones (Adozona), Luis José Bonilla; the executive director of ProDominicana, Biviana Riveiro, among other personalities from the public, business, diplomatic and educational sectors.

Business Roundtable

During the event, an extensive day of business rounds took place, facilitating more than 330 meetings between 28 purchasing companies and 74 suppliers, of which 33 of these companies came from the United States, Germany, Costa Rica and Puerto Rico.

It is worth noting that this business round was held after a survey to identify the main supply needs of inputs required by the medical and electronic products subsectors of the free trade zone sector.

With this event, the CNZFE reaffirms its commitment to strengthening the export sector through initiatives that promote the efficient integration of the value chain and the expansion of commercial opportunities, both nationally and internationally.
