The agreement includes the exchange of knowledge in agricultural production, research and technical cooperation.
The Ministries of Agriculture of the Dominican Republic and the Federative Republic of Brazil signed a bilateral cooperation agreement for the exchange of knowledge and technologies to improve agricultural production in the country and the Caribbean through the Brazilian Agricultural Research Corporation (Embrapa).
Both countries ratified a memorandum of cooperation and understanding that has been promoted for about three years through the Embassy of the Dominican Republic in the South American nation.
In this agreement, both countries commit to work together in digital and virtual production tools, as well as in the transmission of knowledge and advances in agricultural, livestock and livestock models carried out by both countries.
The Minister of Agriculture, Limber Cruz, indicated that there are plans to establish an Embrapa office in the country that will work with technicians, local producers and professionals from other neighboring countries in the Caribbean.
The Dominican ambassador to the Federative Republic of Brazil, Patricia Villegas de Jorge, said that it is of great interest to the Dominican government to develop a policy focused on the transfer and acquisition of knowledge from countries such as Brazil, with greater progress in research, development and technology, which can benefit and contribute to the production of the Dominican Republic.

The agreement will serve as a platform for the training of technicians and specialists in the following areas:
- Cattle and sheep farming
- Production of milk, meat and dairy products.
- Fruit trees
- Coffee
- Cocoa
- Other items of national interest for export and local consumption.
