17,425 cruise passengers disembark this Wednesday at four Dominican ports

For this month of February, the province of Puerto Plata alone is expected to receive 56 cruise ships, through its tourist ports Amber Cove and Taino Bay.

Exactly 17,425 cruise passengers arrived in the Dominican Republic this Wednesday at four tourist ports: two in Puerto Plata, La Romana and Catalina Island.

This was reported by the executive director of the Dominican Port Authority, Jean Luis Rodriguez, who said: “We started February in a big way”.

Amber Cove received 8,822 passengers, Taino Bay received 4,663 cruise passengers, while La Romana Cruise Terminal received 2,366 passengers and Catalina Island received 1,574 visitors.

The tourist terminal Amber Cove, Maimon, reported the arrival of the Carnival Freedom, from Florida, with 3,126 passengers and 1,111 crew members; the second vessel was the Mardis Grass with 5,696 passengers and 1,731 crew members, from San Juan, Puerto Rico.

The Port of Taino Bay in Puerto Plata received two cruise ships, one of them was the Celebrity Silhouette with 2,724 cruise passengers and 1,229 crew members; while the Norwegian Sky, from Virgin Island, arrived with 1,939 passengers and a crew of 901.

In La Romana, two vessels docked: the first was the Mein Schiff 3 with 2,127 passengers and 881 crew members; the second was the Club Med with 239 passengers and 220 crew members.

To Catalina Island, 1,574 passengers and 1,50 crew members arrived on the Norwegian Gem cruise ship.

For the month of February, the province of Puerto Plata is expected to receive 56 cruise ships through the tourist ports of Amber Cove and Taino Bay. Of the 56 ships, 24 belonging to Carnival Corporation will arrive through Amber Cove, and 32 of ITM Group through Taino Bay.
