The largest cruise ship in the world, with thousands of visitors, docked this Monday at the Taino Bay terminal in Puerto Plata.

It is the Wonder of the seas, owned by Royal Caribbean International.

As explained, it is a state-of-the-art vessel, 362 meters long, with capacity for 6,370 passengers and 2,394 crew members.

The cruise ship, which began operations in 2022, has 18 decks and a gross tonnage of 236,867. It has eight quarters or neighborhoods, including its new suite quarter.

This month, 73 vessels are scheduled to arrive at the ports of Taino Bay and Amber Cove. Both are located on the coast of Puerto Plata.

The cruise passengers were received by executives of the terminal, accompanied by the regional director of Tourism, Atahualpa Paulino, and the provincial governor, Claritza Rochtte Peralta.

Other cruise ships arrive

In addition to the Wonder of the Seas, three other ships arrived at the ports of the Bride of the Atlantic with a total of 20,163 visitors.

In Taino Bay, 11,710 people arrived, including cruise passengers and crew, and in Amber Cove, 8,453.
