Puerto Plata will receive 30 cruise ships in the month of August

About 30 cruise ships will arrive in this destination this August, according to the schedule of the shipping companies and the two ports that operate in this demarcation, informed the regional director of the Ministry of Tourism, Atahualpa Paulino.

The official said that 14 of these will anchor at the port of Taino Bay, located in the downtown bay, while the remaining 16 will enter through the port of Amber Cove, located in the municipal district of Maimón.

This, in spite of the fact that the country is in the low season months for the tourist sector in the Caribbean. Even so, the city of Santo Domingo continues to attract a significant number of cruise ships.

In a press document, the official highlights the dynamism of the Dominican destination. He also speaks of the influence that the northern region of the country has lately, with the arrival of dozens of cruise ships.

Paulino assured that, for this new niche, work is being done so that there is no low season in the country in tourism matters. This due to the firmness with which the Ministry of Tourism is working, whose objective is to continue strengthening the industry.
