Kimberly Jimenez parades in the typical sunflower costume at the Miss Universe pre-message gala

The Miss Dominican Republic Universe (MissRDU) Kimberly Jimenez, paraded this Thursday the typical sunflower costume in one of the events prior to Miss Universe 2021, to be held on May 16 in Florida, United States.

It is an attire that emulates a sunflower covered in gold and yellow rhinestones. The costume represents the model’s all-time favorite flower, the sunflower, and was made by Axel Thomas.

She paraded it with pride and ease, as can be seen in the videos posted on social networks.

“The sunflower, besides being my favorite plant, is a sign of the fertility of our land and the commitment of Dominicans who work hard every day to offer their compatriots and the world the best of our land,” Kimberly wrote about her typical costume last April, which generated mixed opinions.

The model with cinnamon skin, honey-colored eyes and toned body has rebounded during the activities leading up to the gala. And pages of “missologists” have her as one of the finalists and possible winners. In fact, her presentation video is the most viewed of all the contestants in America, surpassing 115 thousand views on YouTube.

Likewise, queen maker Osmel Sousa mentioned her among his favorites and said she is well prepared.

Jimenez is the daughter of a Dominican father and Puerto Rican mother, which allowed her in 2017 to participate in the Miss Puerto Rico pageant, where she was second runner-up. Last year, the young woman even participated in the Miss Dominican Republic Universe pageant representing the province of La Romana, but did not win.
