The destination city is home to some of the best resorts in the Caribbean, but the place offers much more.
Like Punta Cana, Cap Cana in the Dominican Republic is known for hosting the Caribbean’s most coveted luxury resorts and the main hook for attracting visitors from all over the world, especially the Americas.
Cap Cana is a place worth visiting for anyone spending time in the region. However, it is so much more than just resorts and real estate.
Juanillo Beach
Located in the Cap Cana area, it is considered one of the best beaches in Punta Cana and for many in the world. It is extensive and has very calm waters, as incredible as Playa Bávaro. There you will find the most impressive options for lodging.
The exclusive area has restaurants, casino, marina and luxury hotels, such as the spectacular Sanctuary Cap Cana or the Hyatt. The beach is really beautiful and worth a visit, either staying there or visiting it for the day on excursions.
On the north side of the beach, past the Cap Cana Marina, is the Ojos Indígenas Ecological Reserve, which has natural wells in a beautiful setting.
Punta Espada Golf Club
The Punta Espada Golf Club is a beachfront property offering breathtaking views. Punta Espada was inaugurated in November 2006 and is one of three such courses in Cap Cana that have the signature of Jack Nicklaus, former golfer and designer of golf courses.
The property has been ranked 35th best in the world by GolfWeek and Golf Digest, respectively, as well as the best golf course in the Caribbean and Mexico for eight consecutive years.
It is possible to book a time for a round on the club’s website or hire programs and packages of golf lessons, which are sold individually, for couples or families, and of all levels, by e-mail.
They have an in-house pro store selling clothing, tennis and game accessories. The Punta Espada course also offers lodging options in associated resorts, with reservations by e-mail, as well as a bar/restaurant overlooking the sea.
This area is used for golf tournaments and competitions, and can also be used for private events, such as weddings.
Cabo Cana, marina
The paradisiacal Cap Cana Marina is another place with spectacular scenery worth visiting in the area. The property offers more than 130 berths, accommodating yachts up to 150 feet, with full services for captains and crew.
Visitors can travel with private yachts along the beautiful DR coastline, as well as fish for white and blue marlin, sailfish and tuna. Even major fishing tournaments are held here every year. It is also surrounded by a village with gourmet restaurants and stores for shopping.
The Marina also offers security for its construction, with an inner harbor that provides additional comfort and security for the hurricane season.
Services can also be contracted with the marina’s own equipment, such as security, complementary WI-Fi, entrance channel to facilitate the arrival of the yacht, yacht conditioning, individual slides and fuel dock.
Those who do not own a yacht and are not interested in fishing, can go and admire the view, which in itself is an event in itself. Services must be contracted through the web.
The Blue Lake
After enjoying the golf course and taking a trip to the Cap Cana Marina, the program of activities beyond the resorts can end with a flourish at the dazzling Blue Lake.
Admission is completely free and there are life jackets for snorkeling, stand-up paddleboards and food trucks, with predetermined hours and days.
Although the best attraction for many is the breathtaking view of the lake. A great activity for the late afternoon, take the family, perfect for getting together with friends and taking advantage of the warm weather in the area.
