San José de Ocoa, a province nestled among mountains

In the southern part of the country, not far away is one of the most charming and spectacular ecotourism provinces of the country, commonly called Ocoa, and receives this name of Taino origin that refers to land between mountains.

It enjoys a cool climate most of the year with an average temperature of 21 degrees Celsius, making this last aspect an attraction for different tourists.

With the passage of time this province has developed and has ventured into major tourism projects which have allowed the entry of more local and international tourists and thus an economic spill that favors the environment and its people.

Some of its main attractions is Terraza Gloria, a project that was born in 2018 as an event patio for local visitors and private activities and then transformed into a space for the whole family and open to the public.

Another alternative when visiting San José de Ocoa is Arawakos Adventure, an ecotourism project located in the aforementioned Loma Tatón. Its concept is all-inclusive and will soon offer cultural and gastronomic elements in its excursions.

For the more adventurous, we also have an option located in the Loma
Tatón: Coroarvillas Zipline, an alternative to leave the stress at heights, is the first zip line in San José de Ocoa; it has two platforms with capacity for 10 people and an extinction of 984 meters.

Right next to it is Coroarvillas, a project that was born for family relaxation, but then they decided to rent it for tourists. It has five rooms with capacity for 16 people, a cozy terrace and a heated swimming pool.

Jigüey Dam. Ideal to recharge energies and breathe fresh air, its notorious greenery and natural beauty are impressive in conjunction with its immensity of concrete, so be sure to visit it.

A sweet business that is already recognized by many Ocoeños and other people from different parts of the country is Dulceria Lolín. Their exquisite desserts are capable of seducing the most demanding palate. They have a variety from canned figs, orange, also tender coconut, whole peanuts, dried milky, stuffed orange, among others.
