The Dominican Republic’s Export and Investment Center (ProDominicana) revealed that 2021 was the year of highest coffee exports in the Dominican Republic, reaching US$12.2 million, while, in the last five years, they exceeded US$51.6 million.

ProDominicana dedicates the month of April to the celebration and promotion of coffee exports. Throughout the month, the institution is holding an open exhibition on Coffee and Cocoa, which concludes its successful participation in the Specialty Coffee Expo fair in the USA.

“Coffee is anchored to Dominican culture. During the month of April we launched a festival that recognizes the tradition, the cultural value and the contribution of coffee producers from all over the country,” Riveiro said.

Those who visit ProDominicana’s facilities will come into contact with different types of coffee. They will have access to traditional and artisanal brands of this product and a variety of forms of presentation.

“With such good results in exports we celebrate National Coffee Day. At the same time, we reaffirm our commitment to boost the Dominican coffee industry’s participation in international markets through the National Plan for the Promotion of Exports,” added Riveiro.
