DOMINICAN REPUBLIC WILL HAVE A NEW INDUSTRIAL PARK

The Dominican Republic will have a new park in the municipality of San Juan de la Maguana, which will seek to boost the economy in the southern province.

The San Juan Industrial Free Zone Park was created by decree number 500-21, promulgated by the Executive Power on Wednesday, August 11 of this year. It will function as an export park, for which it will enjoy the incentives and obligations contained in Law 8-90 on export free zones, under the technical administration of the Center for Industrial Development and Competitiveness, PROINDUSTRIA.

In addition, companies wishing to establish themselves in the San Juan Industrial Free Zone Park, to be developed in an area of more than 100,000 square meters, must be previously authorized by the National Council of Export Processing Zones, CNZFE, an entity that promotes the strengthening of the sector.

The approval of the park was achieved in only two days, since the application was submitted on July 26 by PROINDUSTRIA and approved on July 28 by the CNZFE.
