Guatemala is promoting itself in the Dominican Republic

Officials from the Embassy of Guatemala in the Dominican Republic participated in the Expo Provisiones 2022 fair, the most important meeting of basic needs products held in that friendly nation.

The activity took place from June 2 to 5, organized by the National Council of Commerce in Provisions (CNCP) of the Caribbean country, under the slogan Trade, catalyst of the Dominican industry.

The conclave “included for the first time a guest country, Guatemala. Through the work of the Embassy’s commercial counseling, 7 companies from our country were able to exhibit their products in a stand and participate in the different activities of the fair, in which more than 70 corporations were present”, informed the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Minex).

Five of the Guatemalan companies invited belong to the Guatemalan Exporters Association (Agexport), one to the Guatemalan Chamber of Food and Beverages (CGAB) and the other is independent, it was explained.

In addition to showcasing basic consumer products made in Guatemala, the local businessmen held more than 20 meetings with representatives of Dominican companies and authorities, the Minex explained. Likewise, the Guatemalan ambassador to the Dominican Republic, Javier Zepeda, participated in a panel with executives of a national company in which the dynamics of exports in both countries were discussed.

They also spoke “about the opportunities for trade and tourism that will increase with the imminent establishment of an air route between the two nations”, the Foreign Ministry remarked.
