Marlboro chooses its Selección Artesanal cigarette as the leading cigarette in Dominican Republic

Philip Morris Dominicana (PMDO) announced that its Nacional cigarette became Marlboro Selección Artesanal, while maintaining its quality and flavor.

In this merger, it will maintain the same price in its variants Rojo and Mentholado, in packs of 20 and 10 cigarettes, according to a company press release.

Marlboro Selección Artesanal is born from the flavor of Nacional and focuses on enhancing the quality of tobacco and the process used by tobacco experts in the world of Philip Morris to provide the best smoking experience to its consumers.

Marlboro Selección Artesanal is a blend of hand-selected tobaccos that have been aged for up to 18 months, in order to accentuate the aromas and the enjoyment of its flavor, according to the press release.

It adds that the quality of Nacional has been recognized and selected to be part of the Marlboro family, a brand that is recognized by Dominicans for its quality and trajectory.

Marlboro Selección Artesanal joins the current variants of the Marlboro family: Rojo, Gold, White Menthol and Fresh Ice. In the Dominican Republic, these brands are distributed and marketed by Philip Morris Dominicana, S.A., a local subsidiary of Philip Morris International.

The company reiterated that the flavor and price of Nacional will not change and guaranteed that its supply and distribution level will not be affected after the change process.

Marlboro is the world’s best-selling cigarette brand and is marketed in more than 150 countries, with more than 100 years of history and experience in the treatment of tobacco.
