Mayor’s Office and Tourism will rehabilitate infrastructure in Boca Chica

The mayor of Boca Chica, Ramón Candelaria, announced that, together with the Minister of Tourism, David Collado, they are carrying out a general survey of the infrastructures affected by Hurricane Beryl, as well as other projects pending execution in the municipality.

The mayor shared details about the plans of the Ministry of Tourism (Mitur) to rehabilitate the beach of Boca Chica and the tourist areas that suffered damages due to the passage of the natural phenomenon.

In that sense, Candelaria emphasized that both Mitur and the mayor’s office are committed to make joint efforts to improve the tourist infrastructure of the municipality and to refurbish the busiest beach areas of the city.

“Already in Boca Chica a survey is being made of all the works to be carried out in the municipality, to contribute with the mayor’s office and with the community that has been waiting for a long time for the execution of pending works,” he stressed.

However, the mayor clarified that a general budget of what the works to be carried out will represent in terms of investment has not yet been drawn up, both the present ones and the projects that have been waiting for years for their execution, with the objective of transforming this tourist pole.

“Minister David Collado made a commitment during his recent visit to Boca Chica to rehabilitate the works that were damaged by the recent passage of Hurricane Beryl and those that were affected, but also those that have been waiting for some time for their execution,” he said.

He also added that “this joint effort promises to significantly transform the tourism panorama of Boca Chica, benefiting both residents and visitors who enjoy its beaches and services”.

In addition, during his visit to Boca Chica, the Minister of Tourism met with beach union leaders, community leaders and media representatives, to coordinate and communicate the actions to be taken for the benefit of the community and local tourism.
