Raquel Peña establishes working tables for the National Dialogue

The Vice President of the Republic, Raquel Peña, on behalf of President Luis Abinader, set up the working tables for the National Dialogue for Institutional Strengthening and Efficient Management of the State, coordinated by the Economic and Social Council (CES).

According to her, the objective of this dialogue, among other elements, is to produce the institutional reforms required by the country in the different areas in which the sectors that make up these coordination tables interact.

In this regard, the official called on the active forces of the Dominican nation to join in this process and join the public consultations in the different modalities to be carried out in the different working groups.

“Today we formally established the working tables for this national dialogue. It is of great value to see the living forces of a nation working together, taking the steps that as a united society we must take and for this reason we are convinced that we can only produce the changes that the country demands with the participation of each one of its actors”, expressed the Vice President.

It was established that for the mechanics of the consultations, the different areas already worked on will be advanced and the positions of the Central Government will be made public, as well as the proposals, contributions and documents of the other entities represented there.

Raquel Peña said that, in order to achieve agreement on the measures to be implemented on the different issues, they will emphasize consensus and the use of the vote of all those involved.

The Fourth Meeting of the National Dialogue was held this Tuesday at the Pedro Henríquez Ureña National Library, with the participation of representatives of the Political Parties, business, labor and social sectors.
