Santo Domingo Metro extends its schedule until midnight

With the aim of facilitating mobility in the city of Santo Domingo, the Office for the Reorganization of Transportation (Opret) informed that, starting this Monday, the Santo Domingo Metro will extend its schedule until midnight and will offer free service from 10:30 at night.

In this sense, the Metro will operate temporarily and until further notice, from Monday to Sunday, from 6:00 a.m. to 12:00 midnight, during the time necessary for the repair of the overpass at 27 de Febrero and Máximo Gómez avenues.

The extended Metro schedule, among other solutions announced yesterday by the Central Government, seeks to offer an immediate solution to the mobility challenges generated after the closure of the 27 de Febrero Ave. and Máximo Gómez Ave. overpass in both directions.

Likewise, it is reported that Line 1 of the Santo Domingo Cable Car will maintain its regular schedule, while the Metropolitan Office of Bus Services (OMSA) will extend its service schedule until 11:00 at night.

Also, with the purpose of facilitating alternative routes for those affected by the closure of this important road, citizens are urged to use transit navigation platforms to optimize the flow of vehicles.

Finally, Opret reaffirms its commitment to guarantee a safe and efficient service to all Dominicans.
