AB Gadgets, selected by Banco Popular’s Gente con Propósito project as an example of innovative people, is a technology-based micro-enterprise that maps the country for uploading to the Google Street View cloud to help attract tourists to the DR. If you’ve explored the streets of Santo Domingo on Google Maps, you’ve definitely seen their pictures.
In its most recent management report, Banco Popular has published the stories of inspiring cases of people who in their respective fields show a clear purpose to better themselves, contribute to a better lifestyle, contribute to the economy with their work, or to a more inclusive and sustainable society.
Banco Popular selected representatives for each category, living examples of people with purpose to innovate, grow, transform, add and excel.

Over the years, the challenge of reinventing in an increasingly technological and digital world, led them to specialize in the areas of audiovisual service with 360o cameras and drones. Thus began another project: Mapping DR. They have already mapped the streets of Santo Domingo and Bávaro, and their images have achieved more than 105 million views.
“With @MapeandoRD we contribute enormously to tourism, because people abroad who are considering coming on vacation use our images to see and plan their stay in the Dominican Republic before they arrive,” says Antonio Berges, director of AB Gadgets.
Berges’ purpose is to continue making continuous progress, generating personal benefits and for AB Gadgets, and at the same time contributing to the technological field in the country.
