Abinader says tax measures would be introduced to facilitate tourist purchases

President Luis Abinader said today that the Dominican government is studying the possibility that tourists can buy with certain facilities in terms of taxation.

“There are some tax aspects that we are going to see if we can introduce that would also facilitate trade and especially the sale to international tourists who come to the country to buy. We are going to study this to see if we can do it in the next reforms”, said Abinader.

He added that September was the best month in history for the Dominican Republic in terms of tourism, while reiterating that the recovery of this sector in the country “is a reality”.

The head of state made these statements during a tour of the World Trade Center Santo Domingo complex and the expansion of the Blue Mall.
