Banreservas and ASONAHORES pledge to promote tourism

Banco de Reservas and the Asociación de Hoteles y Turismo de la República Dominicana (ASONAHORES) will collaborate to promote tourism, financial inclusion and the banking penetration of the Dominican Republic’s tourism value chain.

Samuel Pereyra, general administrator of Banreservas, and David Llibre, president of ASONAHORES, signed the collaboration agreement with the aim of creating initiatives and proposals to boost the economy.

Both organizations agreed to contribute to the betterment of Dominicans, to promote social inclusion, to promote local development in the Dominican Republic and to promote and create projects aimed at developing initiatives in favor of tourism in their respective fields of action and business.

Banreservas undertook to provide financial education to the employees and beneficiaries of the companies that make up ASONAHORES, through workshops of the “Preserva” financial education and culture program, and to provide the didactic content of the courses and talks to be given.

The bank will also offer credit facilities to these companies and the advantages of the CREE Banreservas entrepreneurship program, as well as other programs and actions of the Bank and its subsidiaries.Banreservas and ASONAHORES

In order to encourage an increase in the number of tourists visiting the Dominican Republic, they will develop joint projects aimed at contributing to the efficient promotion of Dominican tourism and increasing the supply of hotels and other related companies.

Among the priorities of this cooperation, it was established to design initiatives that favor the promotion and growth of the country’s gastronomic offer, in support of the bars and restaurants segment, in order to boost the economic stability of this sector.

In order to strengthen the competitiveness of the industry and the diversification of the tourism product, both institutions will also carry out studies and research to promote and encourage tourism investment in the country.

The collaboration agreement was signed during the 23rd edition of the Dominican Annual Tourism Exchange (DATE), which this year brings together national and international industry representatives at the Barceló Bávaro Convention Center in Punta Cana.
