The hotels of the Barceló Group received the certification granted by the Industrial Hygiene and Safety Directorate of the Ministry of Labor, which recognizes the compliance of its hotels with the “Occupational Health and Safety” standards.
In order to receive the certification of its establishments in the country, the Spanish hotel company explained that it demonstrated that they comply with the regulations established to prevent accidents and damages to health resulting from work, related to the work activity or occurring during the working day, established by the “Regulation 522-06 of Safety and Health at Work”.
The certified hotels are El Embajador a Royal Hideaway, Barceló Bávaro Palace, Barceló Bávaro Beach, Hotel Occidental Punta Cana and Hotel Occidental Caribe. In addition, Allegro Vacation Club in Santo Domingo and Bavaro.
Upon receiving the certification, Ventura Serra, director of Barceló Urban Hotels in the country, highlighted the company’s commitment to maintaining a “Risk Management System”, an optimal investment in the quality and protection of its main asset, which is its human capital.
The standards that govern the activities of the Barceló Group demonstrate the company’s commitment to the health and well-being of its employees, thus promoting a productive and positive work environment,” he said.
He explained that the certification is awarded to the Barceló Group for its Occupational Health and Safety Program, its joint occupational health and safety committees, “based on principles that create a good working environment, inclusion, effective equity and positive initiatives”.
Serra said that as part of its safety program, the company carries out preventive medical evaluations, health operations, vital care programs, incident and accident investigations, drills in the event of catastrophes and/or natural disasters, first aid and fire fighting training.
