Carlos Montaner describes astonishing growth of free trade zones in Dominican Republic

Cuban writer, journalist and politician, Carlos Alberto Montaner, highlighted that the Dominican Republic has managed to grow in the manufacturing sector and export more than the pre-pandemic figure.

Montaner wrote this Tuesday in his Twitter account that the key to this growth is in the free trade zones.

The writer considered that what is happening in the country is amazing and highlighted that despite the abundance of bad news in Latin America, the Dominican Republic continues its successes.

“Not all the news from Latin America is bad. The Dominican Republic continues its successes. They have managed to grow in the manufacturing sector and export more than the pre-pandemic figure. The key is in the free trade zones. It is amazing what is happening there,” the Twitter message states.

President Luis Abinader has been a standard bearer for the visualization of concrete projects such as the free trade zones, which contribute to the presidential goal of creating more jobs.

Since the beginning of his administration, he has put a lot of energy, effort and dedication to definitively overcome the pandemic and to generate the necessary conditions for economic revival and employment.

The Dominican Government has bet on the economic integration of the local industry with the free trade zones, in order to turn them into one of the main engines of the economic reactivation and source of employment for the Dominicans.
