Colombian President Iván Duque Márquez to arrive in the country tomorrow, Thursday

President Luis Abinader will receive at the National Palace his counterpart from the Republic of Colombia, Iván Duque Márquez, who will arrive on Thursday and remain in the country until Friday afternoon.

The agenda of the South American leader includes a private meeting with the Dominican president and later a lunch with the participation of delegations from both countries.

The signing of agreements between the rulers is also foreseen, as well as the imposition of decorations. Afterwards, a press conference will be held.

The President of the Republic of Colombia, Iván Duque Márquez, and his official entourage will arrive in the Dominican Republic on Thursday 28 at the Dr. José Francisco Peña Gómez International Airport of the Americas.

He will be received at the air terminal by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Roberto Álvarez; the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Colombia in the country, Daniel Cabrales; the Ambassador of the Dominican Republic in Colombia, Julio Cordero, together with the Ambassador and Director of State Ceremonial and Protocol, Francisco José Cantizano Nadal.

His meeting with President Abinader will be on Friday 29 at 10:00 am. The South American leader will arrive at the National Palace and will receive the honors corresponding to his high investiture; then there will be a military review and a presentation of the delegations to the presidents of the Dominican Republic and the Republic of Colombia.

From there, the two leaders will move on to a private audience in the presidential office of the Dominican Head of State in the Government House, where officials from both countries will participate.

This will be followed by an extended meeting of the delegations of both nations in the Green Room and at noon the heads of state will hold a signing ceremony, an imposition of decorations, a joint declaration and a lunch.

At the end of the events at the National Palace, the Colombian President and his official entourage will visit the Altar of the Homeland, where they will lay a wreath.

From the Altar of the Homeland, President Duque Márquez and his entourage will move to the National Congress, where they will be received by the presidents of the Senate, Eduardo Estrella and the Chamber of Deputies, Alfredo Pacheco. At the end, they will meet at the National Assembly’s Session Hall.
