Colombian President Iván Duque to visit Dominican Republic

The President of Colombia, Iván Duque Márquez (Bogotá, 1976), will visit the Dominican Republic this April.

The Colombian president will be received at the Congress. The event will take place at the National Assembly Hall, on Friday, April 29, 2022, at 3:30 in the afternoon.

The information was offered by the Congress in a press accreditation call.

“The different media interested in covering the official visit of President Duque Márquez, as of the date, may send the data of the press personnel (journalists, cameramen and/or photographers) that will provide coverage of the solemn act. Only one team per person”, announced the press department of the legislative branch.

The Dominican National Palace has not provided details about this visit.

Iván Duque won the Presidency of Colombia in 2018. The right-winger, political dolphin of former president Álvaro Uribe, was elected after winning a comfortable victory over former guerrilla Gustavo Petro in the second electoral round.

At 41 years old, Duque was the youngest president to be elected in Colombia since 1872 and the most voted in history with more than ten million votes.

On Sunday, May 29th of this year, Colombians are called to the polls.
