Through “My Young Community” program
The Dominican government has set in motion the program “Mi comunidad joven” (My Young Community) to encourage advancement of the youth countrywide and rid the social maladies feeding violence and robbery.
The community project, guided by the Ministry of Youth, plans to link the new generations to educational, cultural and sanitary events and facilities that, according to Minister Jorge Minaya, will inject dynamics and true social involvement.
Violence has been the source of unfortunate events that for many years have kept the Dominican homes and society mourning, hence the urge to revert this picture.
“Mi comunidad joven” is a national program per se, stressed Minaya, adding that President Danilo Medina’s Administration heartfully wishes to fully develop the youth by improving their living standards to achieve general comfort.
