Dominican Republic and Canada talk free trade agreement

To strengthen commercial ties

The Dominican Republic and Canada held talks on running a free trade agreement and are to seal the accord later today at the Canadian Embassy in this capital.

Vice foreign minister José Manuel Trullols said President Danilo Medina met with State Minister for the Agency of Opportunities in the Atlantic and French-speaking countries Bernard Valcourd, and Canadian Ambassador Todd Kuiack.

At the meeting, Trujolls also agreed to sign a new energy contract enabling Canadian companies to work and develop that sector.
