President Danilo Medina on Monday headed the ribbon cutting for a gigantic water tank to film movies underwater, at Pinewood Indomina Studios in Juan Dolio, San Pedro (east).

Medina toured the facilities of the state-of-the art studios, where the world’s second largest film production tank is now operational.

Felipe Vicini, of studio owner Vicini Group, stressed the country’s legal security for investment and the World Bank’s US$20 million stake in the project.

“The Water Tank is the world’s second largest and these facilities count with the latest technology and engineering. What for many is no longer a dream starts operating today and starts to become reality”, he said, adding that boost the film industry’s development and create more than 10,000 jobs in the next five years. »
