DR hosts XXXI meeting of International Cooperation Directors for Latin America and the Caribbean

The Dominican Republic is hosting the XXXI Meeting of International Cooperation Directors for Latin America and the Caribbean, with the participation of authorities from more than 20 countries in the region, as well as representatives of international agencies and organizations.

The meeting on “Innovative Mechanisms for South-South and Triangular Cooperation (CSSTr) in Latin America and the Caribbean” is being held in the Dominican capital from Wednesday 8 to Thursday 9 February and is organized by the Latin American and Caribbean Economic System (SELA) together with the Ministries of Economy, Planning and Development, and Foreign Affairs of the Dominican Republic.

In his opening remarks, the Minister of Economy, Pável Isa Contreras, reaffirmed that “from the Dominican Republic, we will continue to promote South-South and triangular cooperation as important tools for the region to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), convinced that it is an ideal platform to share knowledge and skills, promote strategic alliances for strengthening and capacity building, knowledge generation, regional integration, and for the design of public policies for the benefit of our respective countries”.
