Dominican Republic participates in ICAO Program and Traveler Identification Seminar

The general director of passports, Néstor Cruz Pichardo; the director of issuance and renewal of passports, Eduard Figueroa, accompanied by Ambassador Julio Peña,Permanent Representative of the Dominican Republic, the Seventeenth Symposium and Main Exhibition will develop the theme: “With fluidity and without contact: Sharing data to accelerate recovery”.

This important event will be held at the headquarters of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), Montreal, Canada from September 13 to 15, 2022.

During the annual event, which focuses on the exchange of information on all aspects of the management of the identification of the traveling public, the delegation of the Dominican Republic will hold working meetings with ICAO, for the eventual implementation of electronic travel documents for Dominican citizens, in accordance with the provision of Presidential Decree 438-22.

The ICAO-TRIP Symposium is a global event with a strong focus on cooperation to facilitate air transport and address the multiple threats facing international civil aviation, among others.

The meeting offers great opportunities for member states to participate in an exhibition that will complement the Symposium, showcasing a wide range of products and services related to the applications of security protocols in the areas of travel documents, issuance and authentication of proof of health, border inspection, automated border control systems and identity management.
