DR participates in world entrepreneurship congress in Puerto Rico

A commission of entrepreneurs, developers, investors and actors of the entrepreneurship ecosystem of the Dominican Republic accompanies Roger Marte in his participation in the plenary of the Global Entrepreneurship Congress (GEC), which takes place in Puerto Rico. The event aims to connect entrepreneurs, investors, ministers, CEOs and ministerial representatives who support the strengthening of entrepreneurship.

Roger Marte, Director for Entrepreneurship of the Ministry of Economy, Industry and Commerce of the Dominican Republic, highlights the competitiveness and entrepreneurial spirit of Dominicans. Marte stresses that the government’s actions, which have revitalized the productive sectors and guaranteed legal security, transparency and institutionality, have generated confidence in foreign investors. This is reflected in the historical records of Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) that the country has achieved.

International participation in the Congress

The event, which will be held from July 14 to 18 at the San Juan Convention Center in San Juan, Puerto Rico, will be attended by leading figures from several countries:

Bermuda: Jache Adams MP, President of the Bermuda Economic Development Corporation.

Costa Rica: Francisco Gamboa Soto, Minister of Economy, Industry and Commerce.

Dominican Republic: Rogely Marte, Director for Entrepreneurship, Ministry of Economy, Industry and Commerce.

El Salvador: Alejandro PanameƱo, Director of Innovation and Competitiveness, Ministry of Economy.

Mexico: Gibran Briones, Director of the Investment Office, Ministry of Economy.

Paraguay: Juan Paredes Romero, National Director of Entrepreneurship, Ministry of Industry and Commerce.

Suriname: Rishma N. Kuldipsingh, Minister of Economic Affairs, Entrepreneurship and Technological Innovation.

United States: Isabela Casillas Guzman, Administrator. Also President of the U.S. Small Business Administration.

United States: Daniel Krupnick, Associate Administrator, Office of International Trade, U.S. Small Business Administration.

Importance of the World Congress of Entrepreneurship

The World Entrepreneurship Congress, organized by the Global Entrepreneurship Network, leads Global Entrepreneurship Week. Also other factors that measure entrepreneurial activity at a global level. The participation of the Dominican delegation in this event is an opportunity to strengthen ties, exchange knowledge and foster the growth of the entrepreneurial ecosystem in the region.
