ETED and ProDominicana to promote One-Stop Investment Window system

The initiative will streamline the procedures for electrical investment, eliminating bureaucratic obstacles.

In the interest of promoting and developing the competitive capacity of national and foreign investment, promoted by President Luis Abinader, the Dominican Electricity Transmission Company (ETED) and the Center for Export and Investment of the Dominican Republic (ProDominicana) will work on the digital implementation of the One-Stop Investment Window of the Dominican Republic (VUIRD).

This agreement with ETED is the first that the entity achieves in terms of the Single Window for Investment in the country.

Through the agreement, signed by the administrator of ETED, engineer Martín Morillo, and Biviana Riveiro Disla, executive director of ProDominicana, both institutions seek to turn the Single Window into an agile and reliable tool for the benefit of investors, by guaranteeing the fluidity, security, transparency and efficiency of all its processes.

For its part, ETED is committed to work with ProDominicana and the other institutions that make up the One-Stop Investment Window of the Dominican Republic (VUIRD), in the reception and management of applications received through the enabled tool, as well as in the delivery of documents that are the result of these.

Martín Morillo and Biviana Riveiro DislaThe agreement will also expedite and facilitate formalities, procedures and actions to be carried out by the aforementioned transmission company to issue the necessary authorizations, licenses, permits or certifications so that the investor can properly carry out its installation or expansion process in the country.

The Coordination Commission of the One-Stop Investment Window will carry out all the necessary actions for the correct implementation of the project in its virtual modality.

It should be noted that integration, inter-institutional cooperation and quality in the provision of public service are the most effective means for the Dominican Republic to achieve its national vision.

In this regard, ETED’s general administrator, Martín Robles Morillo, said that “with this agreement, substantial benefits will be obtained for the country’s development, based on an agile, efficient mechanism, with transparency as a cardinal point to ensure that investments are not affected”.

Biviana Riveiro, executive director of ProDominicana indicated that “the main objective is to offer investors a centralized point for the provision of services and procedures necessary to carry out any type of investment in the country, grouping government services from multiple institutions, including certifications, permits and licenses, making the steps to follow more transparent and clear.

Both parties committed to collaborate closely with the corresponding institutions and organizations, providing all the necessary support for the installation and successful implementation of the One-Stop Investment Window, which may require the holding of periodic meetings in conjunction with the Export and Investment Center of the Dominican Republic (ProDominicana), with the objective of exchanging information and existing data on investment, unifying these databases for the exploitation and strategic analysis of such data, validating the flow of procedures, strengthening technical assistance and any other point considered important for the optimal functioning of the VUIRD.
