President Luis Abinader broke ground for the construction of a new building that will be part of the second stage of the Police Institute of Higher Education (IPES), which will provide 18 classrooms to the higher education system.
With this project, President Luis Abinader confirms his interest in providing the country with a better trained and more qualified police force.
This will be a three-story building in an area of 3,124.22 square meters of construction, with an investment of RD 359 million.
The Minister of Housing and Buildings, Carlos Bonilla, indicated that Mived is “proud to be an instrument to help make this work a reality, which will translate into more welfare for the country”.
Meanwhile, the deputy director of the National Police, General Juan Hilario Guzmán Badía, defined the beginning of this work as transcendental, since it will diversify the training programs and will make the institution more professional.
This new institute will have classrooms, dining room, meeting room, waiting room, offices, audiovisual rooms, infirmary, electrical room, bathrooms, auditorium, library, archives and two laboratories.
Present at the ceremony were the Minister of the Presidency, Joel Santos, Mayor Carolina Mejía, and Senator Faride Raful.
Likewise, the executive director of the Technical Commission for the Restructuring of the Educational System of the P.N, Mu-Kien Adriana Sang, and the executive commissioner for the Reform of the PN, retired general Luis Ernesto García Hernández.
