Visa Inc. has announced the appointment of Gustavo Turkey as the new general manager for Visa in the Dominican Republic. In this position, Turkey will be responsible for leading Visa’s strategy in the country, focusing on the consolidation of the company within the digital payments ecosystem. This will include the implementation of innovative payment solutions aligned with Visa’s regional priorities.

Gustavo Turkey joined Visa in 2018 and has held key roles in Brazil, where he contributed significantly to the growth of the digital and acceptance infrastructure in the country. His focus has been on integrating complete client solutions, combining issuance, acceptance, merchant and money movement solutions, along with value-added services.

In his new role, Turkey will focus on developing opportunities to expand the digital payments infrastructure in the Dominican Republic, contributing to the growth of businesses of all sizes. In addition, he will continue to drive the adoption of digital payments, with the goal of increasing efficiency, transparency and security in transactions.

Turkey has a strong academic background, including a degree in Business Administration, an MBA and an executive leadership program at the London Business School.

She comes to Santo Domingo from São Paulo and will be part of Visa’s Caribbean and Central America leadership team, replacing Sofia Antor, who has taken on a new role in Visa’s regional office in Florida.
