By means of this agreement, IDOPPRIL undertook to disburse to EDENORTE “the amounts paid by EDENORTE to the workers for temporary disability benefits corresponding to the period of temporary disability caused by work accidents or occupational diseases”.
The Instituto Dominicano de Prevención y Protección de Riesgos Laborales (IDOPPRIL) and Empresa Distribuidora de Electricidad del Norte S.A. (EDENORTE) signed an agreement for the payment of subsidies to benefit injured members of the contributory regime.
The signing was headed by the executive director of IDOPPRIL, Dr. Fausto López Solís, and the general manager administrator of EDENORTE, Engineer Andrés Cueto, respectively.
By means of this agreement, IDOPPRIL committed to disburse to EDENORTE “the amounts paid by EDENORTE to the workers for the subsidies for temporary disability corresponding to the period of temporary incapacity caused by work accidents or professional diseases”.
Likewise, EDENORTE agreed to keep the worker on the payroll while he/she is in a state of temporary disability, covering to a greater extent the payment of the disability subsidy that corresponds to IDOPPRIL, according to the Regulation on Labor Risks Insurance, corresponding to Law 87-01 May 2001, which creates the Dominican Social Security System (SDSS).
Said disbursement will be made “until the affiliate has recovered its capacity to work, has been compensated or pensioned, if applicable”.
IDOPPRIL also undertook to submit to EDENORTE the procedure by which it will make possible the access to the benefits to which the employees are entitled for the temporary disability subsidies.
Likewise, the agreement establishes that, after depositing the corresponding subsidy to EDENORTE, IDOPPRIL will be released from the payment of such obligation to the injured party.
The agreement, which will be valid for one year, was signed at the headquarters of the North Regional and Santiago Provincial Office of IDOPPRIL. In addition to the holders, the ceremony was attended by the Governor of this province, Mrs. Rosa Santos and officials of both institutions, among them, Mr. Odalis Fernández, National Director of Services and Dr. Luis Vásquez, Health Director of IDOPPRIL.
Also present were Dr. Sergio Rafael Guzmán Durán, the Northern Regional directors of the Superintendence of Health and Labor Risks (SISALRIL), of the DIDA, the General Directorate of Retirement and Pensions, and of INFOTEO, Jacqueline Minier, Saúl Mcdougal, Norberto Sabater and Luis Manuel Rodríguez, respectively; and Jacqueline Minier, in charge of the Ministry of Labor office in Santiago.
While for EDENORTE, the directors of the Northern provinces and of the main areas of that electricity distribution company were present.
