Inaipi inaugurates the Ercilia Pepín Community Caipi, in Bonao

The Dominican Government, through the National Institute for the Integral Attention to Early Childhood (Inaipi), inaugurated the Ercilia Pepín Community Caipi (Caipi C), to benefit 120 children, aged 0 to 5 years old, in the municipality of Bonao.

The event was headed by Besaida Manola Santana, executive director of Inaipi, who affirmed that with this center, 61 centers have been opened as part of the plan to expand the coverage of early childhood services promoted by the government of President Luis Abinader, to bring the quality care offered by Inaipi to families living in conditions of vulnerability.

He emphasized that the children will receive attention focused on the components of Timely Stimulation and Initial Education; Health and Nutrition, Attention to Special Educational Needs and Condition of Disability; Protection against Violence; Birth and Family Registration, and Communities, which contribute to the full development of infants and guarantee the fulfillment of their rights.

The young Solanyi Reyes, mother of a two year old girl who receives services at the new Caipi C, thanking on behalf of the benefited families, said she was pleased and calm because the children will have quality care and protection.

The event was attended by Digna Matos, representative of the governor of Monseñor Nouel province; Pastor Edward Ureña, who blessed the new center; Lidia Jerez and Ambiorix Lora, representatives of the Educational District 1604 of Bonao, among other personalities.

Representing Inaipi were Harolin Almonte, deputy director of Inter-institutional Relations; Yanett Rodríguez, deputy director of Institutional Management; Johanna Elías, director of Service Network Management; Juan Tomás Méndez, director of Operations; Quilma Tió, head of the Caipi Centers Department, and Mayra Ravelo, head of the Caipi Division of Direct Management, among other officials.

Center facilities

Caipi C Ercilia Pepín has five rooms where services will be offered to 120 infants who live with their families in Los Transformadores, San José, El Ocho and Ensanche La Fe neighborhoods, from 7:30 am to 5:00 pm.

The center also has office areas, restrooms, playground, a picnic area, bathrooms and office area.
