The National Institute of Physical Education (Inefi) and the Ministry of Youth signed this Monday an institutional agreement, with which both governmental organizations mutually commit to carry out sports activities that contribute to the development and social inclusion of young residents in the sectors that are within the Nuevo Domingo Savio project.
The director of Inefi, Alberto RodrÃguez Mella, and the Minister of Youth, Carlos Valdez Matos, after detailing the reasons and objectives of the agreement in the meeting held at the MIJU headquarters, signed the document, in which they also commit to fulfill other responsibilities.
In this sense, Alberto RodrÃguez Mella emphasized that, “more than an agreement, it is an obligation that Carlos and I have, because both the Youth and Inefi have as the main focus of their public policies the children and young Dominicans”.
He indicated that the agreement includes the realization of tournaments and youth sports cups in which both organizations will be involved, as well as making available talks and training of all the programs of the Ministry of Youth in the activities carried out by Inefi.
He indicated that the institution he heads will count on the regional and provincial directors of the Ministry of Youth to collaborate in the activities carried out by the decentralized institution he heads.
He said that Inefi will also provide technical and logistical support for the various activities carried out by the Ministry.
For his part, Valdez Matos declared that President Luis Abinader is determined that sports be part of the daily life of Dominican youth, this being the main reason for the agreement between Inefi and the Ministry of Youth.
“We hope that this agreement not only translates into a commitment between two institutions, but also between youth and sports that will consolidate a government administration of President Abinader, and it is a commitment that we have each assumed,” he apostilled.
