The National Institute of Technical and Professional Training (Infotep) and the Santo Domingo East City Council (ASDE), certified 967 city councilors and collaborators in 41 training actions that guarantee them an advance in their socioeconomic development.
The certificates were handed over during a graduation ceremony headed by Rafael Santos Badía, general director of Infotep, and Dio Astacio, mayor of the municipality of Santo Domingo East.
Santos Badía affirmed that with these new technicians, the municipality of Santo Domingo East continues its vigorous social, commercial, urban and institutional growth.
“Infotep, in line with its development, in alliance with the mayor’s office, continues to prepare the human talents of its collaborators and municipalities, for better building performance, as well as for the new jobs and enterprises of this thriving and largest community in the province of Santo Domingo,” he said.
The director stressed that with these trainings to employees of the Mayor’s Office of Santo Domingo East and municipalities, Infotep continues to support their personal and institutional development, providing them with tools to improve productivity in their jobs and make them more efficient collaborators.
While Mayor Dio Astacio said that the training of the graduates will contribute to the growth and development of the municipality.
“Today we celebrate a new generation of professionals, trained and ready to face the challenges that the municipality demands. In this journey you have acquired the necessary tools to build a prosperous future for yourselves and for our community,” said Astacio.
The mayor urged the graduates to continue training, to continue to grow and to put into practice everything they have learned. “Santo Domingo East needs you; together, we will make our municipality an even better place to live,” he said.
The training
The trainings were carried out during the period 2023-2024 and are framed in the results of an inter-institutional agreement signed in 2021, Infotep and ASDE, with the purpose of joining efforts in favor of the collaborators and municipalities of the province of Santo Domingo East and surrounding areas.
The training was carried out in 473 hours of instruction through the Eastern Regional Office, in areas relevant to the economic and social development of the country.
Among these areas are: Human Relations, Organizational Development, Human Talent Management, Compulsive Collections, Customer Service, Law 63-17 of Mobility, Land Transportation, Transit and Road Safety of the Dominican Republic, Professional Ethics, and Communication in the Deaf Culture and Sign Language.
They were also trained in Spelling, Emotional Intelligence, Effective Supervision, Technical Report Writing, Telephone Courtesy, Effective Time Management, Promotion of Over-the-Counter Pharmaceutical Products and Introduction to Digital Marketing.
For the period August-December 2024, Infotep plans to execute more than 15 different training actions with which it will impact 500 young people from Santo Domingo East and surrounding areas.
