With the visit of an international delegation from Ibermuseos and executives from the General Directorate of Museums (DGMUSEOS), the program “Ibermuseos and Dominican Republic Dialogues” concluded this Friday, an event that this year addressed issues such as planning, public policies, education and inclusion.
This meeting took place at Casa Mella-Russo, where the international delegates were received by executives of the General Directorate of Museums.
The program, coordinated by Monica Fiallo of the Museo de las Atarazanas Reales and Altagracia Mella Russo of CMR, was supported by the DGMUSEOS. During the visit, cooperation and exchange between museums in Ibero-America was promoted, one of the main objectives of Ibermuseos as a regional initiative.
The international delegation was composed of Alan Trampe, director of the Ibermuseos Commission, together with representatives from Brazil, Cuba, Bolivia and Spain.
The country was represented by the director of the Museo de las Casas Reales and the Santo Domingo Fortress, among others.
The CMR Museum, located in the Colonial City of Santo Domingo, plays a fundamental role in the promotion of art and culture in the region. The collaboration with Ibermuseos aims to strengthen public policies, take advantage of competitive funds and promote the exchange of best practices in museum management.
