La Romana to attract more Turkish tourism with new AirAnka charter from Istanbul

Turkish airline AirAnka made its first charter flight to La Romana, Dominican Republic from the city of Istanbul.

This event is part of the strong presence in the country of the Turkish group Acunmedya, a company internationally recognized for being the producer of popular reality shows such as Survivor and Exatlón, which are filmed in La Romana, employing hundreds of Dominicans and foreigners every year.

Flight TZ701 lasted about 12 hours and brought with it dozens of people, including the Dominican Ambassador to Turkey, Elvis Alam Lora; Ebru Atasav, CEO of Acunmedya and the Chief Financial Officer of AirAnka, Bilgen Salih Narli.

In this regard, Ambassador Alam Lora, said that “the authorization of the route would be very beneficial for the country as the Dominican community in Turkey would have greater facilities to come, as well as other citizens of that part of the world, which would contribute to our tourism. It would also open up the opportunity to export fresh agricultural products and improve trade relations between the two countries”.

Regarding Acunmedya, the diplomat considered that “there is no tourism budget that achieves what they are achieving. The whole world knows us thanks to their leading ratings program Survivor”, which is broadcasted in 10 countries and is watched by millions of people.

Ebru Atasav, CEO of Acunmedya, valued as very positive the experience the company has had in its 15 years of presence in the Dominican Republic, which is why it continues to expand its projects and investments in the country.

“We want to continue making more productions for more markets and grow as that platform that shows internationally the beauty of this island, while creating jobs and welfare in multiple ways,” she added.

The executive revealed that the company is building an apartment complex in La Romana to house the teams involved in the production of its programs, which exceed 2,000 people.
