“Marbetes” renewals started yesterday

The deadline this year will be 11 November

Starting this Wednesday, vehicle owners can obtain their new registration stickers called marbetes, informed the General Directorate of Internal Taxes (DGII) who added that the deadline this year will be 11 November.

The information was offered by Germania Montas Yapur, the deputy director general of the DGII, Major General Jose Anibal Sanz Jiminian, the director of the Metropolitan Transit Authority (AMET) and Virginia Gomez, the head of the Motor Vehicle Department of the DGII.

In order to acquire the new sticker, the taxpayers just have to take a photocopy of the vehicle registration to any of the more than 700 offices that are available in 288 renovation points, located in the Savings & Loan Associations, and in banks such as BDI, ADEMI, Vimenca, Las Americas, Multipago Express, Adopem, and at any of the Internal Tax offices in Pedernales, Jimani, Villa Vasquez, Samana and Sanchez.

Mr. Montas emphasized that this year the cost of renewing the stickers benefited the owners of vehicles from 2006 on back, since they will pay RD $1.200, and for vehicle models from 2007 forward, the cost is RD $2.200.

On the other hand, she stressed that Internal Taxes continues to offer the facility of on-line renewal in a question of minutes, from a person’s house or office.
Using the webpage for the DGII, clicking on the Marbete 2011 option, the vehicle owner types in the license plate number and the number of the credit card and the owner receives the document in his/her place of residence or office.
