MITUR recognized with SITUR & UCTT Digital Government Award

MITUR receives Digital Government award for digital programs SITUR and the Central Unit of Tourist Procedures (UCTT)

In addition to MITUR, other government initiatives that demonstrate the country’s progress in digitization of services were recognized.

The Ministry of Tourism (MITUR), in its mission to be at the forefront of technology and digitization of processes and projects carried out in the institution as manager of tourism, was recognized with the Digital Government award, for the implementation of the Tourism Intelligence System (SITUR) and the Central Unit of Tourism Procedures (UCTT), initiatives launched by the current administration headed by Minister David Collado.

The recognition granted to Mitur, in the category ”Promising Practices of Digital Government” was made within theMITUR Premio SITUR y UCTT ninth edition of the index award for the Use of Information and Communication Technologies and Implementation of Electronic Government in the Dominican State (iTICge) 2022, organized by the Government Office of Information and Communication Technologies (OGTIC).

Jacqueline Mora, Technical Vice-Minister of Mitur, thanked the award given by the OGTIC, while highlighting the work of ”a committed team and many collaborators of the institution, who with dedication, creativity, effort and passion, have been changing the way of serving and managing tourism in the Dominican Republic”.

In addition to Mitur, other government initiatives that demonstrate the country’s progress in the digitalization of services were recognized, such as ProUsuario Digital of the Superintendency of Banks, the development of DATACOMEX-RD, Fair Prices, Industrias RD, Datos Zonas Francas RD, Chequeo Digital and the Directorio Creativo, of the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Mipymes.

The event also recognized important personalities of the national public life, who have contributed to the promotion of digital transformation throughout the Dominican State.

The index of ICT use and e-Government implementation (iTICge) is the tool created by OPTIC for the systematic and quantitative measurement and evaluation of the progress of the implementation of ICT and e-Government initiatives in the Dominican State.
