More than 300,000 tourists have arrived in the Dominican Republic so far this February

So far in February this year, 390,000 tourists have arrived in the Dominican Republic, which represents 210% more than in February 2021 and 1% more than in the same month, but in 2019.

The information was offered this Sunday by the Minister of Tourism, David Collado, on his Twitter account. The official said that this Saturday alone 29,534 foreigners arrived in the Dominican Republic, “one of the highest figures”.

“The recovery of tourism is a worldwide success story,” Collado highlighted.

The Tourism Minister has intensified his promotional efforts to ensure that more foreign visitors continue to come to the Dominican Republic. He recently led the seventh day of the DR Tour in San Antonio, Texas (United States), which was attended by more than 300 tour operators and travel agencies in the area.

During his visit to Houston, Minister Collado also held meetings with airlines, tour operators, travel agents and travel agency associations, among other stakeholders in the tourism sector.

These meetings identified marketing opportunities, the opening of new routes, direct marketing campaigns to visitors and the intensification of existing routes, among other initiatives.
