More than six million passengers through the country’s airports

More than 6 million passengers have flown in and out during the first five months of this year 2022, through the different national airports of the country, according to statistical data provided by the Dominican Civil Aviation Institute (IDAC).

According to figures provided by the agency, in the month of January, 1,288,972 passengers were mobilized. While in February the numbers reached 1,177,657.

The IDAC also pointed out that in March of this year, 1,347,448 passengers were mobilized. While in April, the volume of travelers who moved through the different terminals reached 1,350,993.

Meanwhile, during the month of May of this year, the number of passengers mobilized was 1,229,943.

The IDAC highlighted that in the first five months of this year, the total number of passengers mobilized reached 6,395,013.

During the first four months of 2022, the Dominican Republic set a record by mobilizing 5,160,661 air passengers in and out of the country, which represents half of those transported during the whole of 2021. Passengers during this period entered and exited through the international airports of Punta Cana, La Altagracia, Las Americas International, Jose Francisco Pena Gomez, Gregorio Luperon, Puerto Plata.

In addition, the terminals of Professor Juan Bosch, Catey, of Samaná, María Montez, of Barahona, Cibao, of Santiago, International of La Romana and Joaquín Balaguer, Higüero, of Santo Domingo.

The Ministry of Tourism, the Civil Aviation Board (JAC) and the Dominican Civil Aviation Institute (IDAC) project that by the end of 2022, more than 15 million domestic and foreign passengers will be mobilized.

The aeronautical and airport authorities emphasize that international civil aviation is going through the best moments in the current situation due to the increase in the flow of passengers and the incorporation of new airlines and franchises of flights to and from the country.
