The Unified Council of Electricity Distribution Companies (CUED) appointed as interim general manager of Edesur Dominicana the economist José Luis Actis, who pledged to continue supporting an efficient management to achieve the best results in the shortest possible time, with teamwork and giving continuity to the work done by his predecessor, Milton Morrison.
Actis was sworn in by the president of CUED, Celso Marranzini, who was accompanied by the members of the Board of Directors of the entity, Luis Miura, Pedro Díaz González, Edwin Acosta and the president of the Patrimonial Fund of the Reformed Companies (Fonper), José Florentino.
Marranzini thanked President Luis Abinader for the strong support he has given to the work carried out by CUED to continue strengthening and making the national electricity sector more efficient.
He expressed the need to continue to reduce losses and for the electricity sector to stop being the Cinderella, as is the wish of President Abinader, for which he asked to give full support to Actis, who has vast experience in the electricity sector.
He stated that the country has experienced a remarkable growth in all sectors of the economy, but the distribution of electricity is on the agenda as a pending task to materialize.
“I am sure that we are going to continue on the path of reducing losses, reducing expenses and that Edesur will become the crown of the distribution sector in the Dominican Republic,” he stressed.
For his part, Actis thanked Marranzini and the other members of the CUED for their confidence in appointing him to Edesur Dominicana and expressed his commitment to carry out a good management in favor of the electricity sector and the Dominican people, reducing losses and improving collection.
On his side, Morrison requested to support the management of Actis and Edesur Dominicana, with the purpose of procuring positive results in the entity.
